Rare set of four cinema armchairs upholstered in red velvet, designed by Carlo Scarpa in the 1960s for the Auditorium on Via della Conciliazione in Rome, a landmark project by architect Marcello Piacentini. The armchairs exemplify Scarpa’s distinctive approach to design, combining architectural rigor, refined detailing, and material sensitivity. The deep red velvet upholstery enhances their theatrical presence, while the sculptural structure reflects the strong dialogue between modernism and craftsmanship characteristic of Italian postwar design. Originally conceived for a public cultural space, these seats are now highly collectible and suitable for curated interiors, cinemas, theaters, galleries, or statement seating in private spaces.
